So this is as far as I got on the fit/muscular pinup painting today, I should have gotten further along but I've been updating my site all day so this is it. This is always the roughest point in my painting process, nothing is smooth or even but that is fine as it is still early on in the process. I am still not sure how I will handle the background entirely, I want to make it somewhat abstract/vague so it doesn't just look like she's sitting in a canyon in Arizona. haha I am not sure how far along I will get this week on this painting as I have allot going on, but I will update as I do.

So I finished a painting AND got a sketch done for the next one in the same day, must be some kind of record haha. Anyways here it is, as the model is muscular and fit I thought I would give her an austere and hard environment to be in. While there is a correlation between her cut muscles and the jagged rock face, the curves of her body do contrast nicely with the sharp angles of the rock. The model is fitness pro Bethany Nelson. I just finished the newest painting. It is 99% acrylic with a little colored pencil in the cotton candy for texture. It went pretty smoothly and I think I'm mostly happy with it at this point, sometimes it takes awhile though for me to decide how I feel about a piece. So I won't look at for a few days and then come back to it to get a better idea of how I feel about it. Next up is a painting with a very different feel to it, fitness Pro Bethany Nelson is the model, she has a very fit and muscular look, so in contrast to the soft cute feel of this painting, the next one should have a hard edgy look to it. |
